There wasn't as much pomp and circumstance as usual for Wednesday's college football early National Signing Day. That's because, with NSD pushed back a week, high schools were closed for the holiday break.That limited the staged 'announcements' in gyms and auditoriums, which sometimes sounded like pep rallies with students attending. Those festivities traditionally provided countless pictures of smiling players donning college sweatshirts or pulling hats out of their pockets to illustrate the college of their choice.
